Temporary Use Permit 198 Cliffside: Letter from Bylaw compliance and Enforcement Manager- October 7, 2020

Dear David Osborne: I have received and reviewed your letter of September 24th. After receipt of your letter, I contacted Peter Warburton and asked him for the information that had been referred to Islands Trust. He was able to provide a copy of the E-Referral system record and the recipient email addresses at Islands Trust. I was able to verify that the crown lease application was referred to Islands Trust on the 22nd of August 2019. I was also able to confirm that two Islands Trust email addresses received it. However, staff believed that the information and package were for an application that had been previously opened for Saturna, and for which a license had been issued, and the file closed. This error means that the referral package was not reviewed by staff, and that there was no reply or comment to Peter Warburton from Islands Trust regarding the application. There is now a temporary use permit application in process for 198 Cliffside RD, and it is scheduled to be on the agenda for the October 15, 2020 regular business meeting for the Saturna Local Trust Committee. The public notice process has commenced and comments can be forwarded to planning staff. Sincerely, Warren Dingman Bylaw compliance and Enforcement Manager Cc: Peter Luckham.
