Out with SIPOA. In with SIRRA.

SIPOA is changing. We have a new name and a new focus.
At the AGM on May 31/2014 a resolution was passed 'that the membership in SIPOA
should be widened to include all residents of the island'. Our new name is Saturna Island
Ratepayers (and) Residents Association, (SIRRA) and if you own property and/or reside
on Saturna we would like you to join us. There is a small annual membership fee of
$10.00 to join the group. Fill out a membership application at www.sirra.ca or email us at
sirra@saturnanet.net for an application form and add your voice to ours.
SIRRA will continue to focus on the issues that are of concern to all residents: taxes,
ferries, roads, health or any other issues you see as important to the community. To help
determine priorities a survey will be conducted of our membership in late September and
the results of that survey will steer our course for the coming year.
The Board for 2014-2015 consists of some new members and some returnees:
Eva Hage - President
Bill Schermbrucker - Past President
Valerie McMillan - Vice President and Membership Director
Ron Hall - Treasurer
Dian Johnstone - Corresponding Secretary
If you have any questions please feel free to contact any member of the Board or email us
at sirra@saturnanet.ca.
